The 2022 running of the Detroit Autorama held in the Cobo/TCF Center located in Detroit, Michigan was a definite good time. Over the three-day run of the show, fans are treated to all sorts of crazy cool cars. From vintage muscle cars, hot rods, customs, race cars, it is all here on display for folks to check out and enjoy. There is so much to see and take in that folks who attend the show find they need to come each and every day to make sure they see it all.

This year Milan Dragway had one whole row just to themselves and filled it up with all sorts of great drag racing machinery. From junior dragster, pro mods, shoot out cars, all types of cars that will be racing down the drag strip during the coming year. However, it was at the head of their row where a couple of cars that seemed to attract the biggest crowd and those were two cars from the Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws TV program. Brian “Chucky” Davis and Johnny Quick each brought their cars and were on hand to fill fans in on what goes on behind the scenes on the hit show.

The classic Hard Times Pontiac that was campaigned by Truman Fields was another piece of drag racing history on display. There were a number of front motored dragsters, Super Stock and Stockers, great drag racing wagons as well.

A great display played tribute to the old Detroit Dragway for here in the display, fans could check out some of the cars that might have raced at this famous drag strip back in the day. In fact, this display featured many of the various items from the drag strip itself. The original A-frame board that sat on the drag strip could be seen. This one-of-a-kind item was loaned to the display by Shaggy who painted the board back in the day. Fans also brought some of their own items to be included in the display, including vintage T-shirts, posters, tickets from events, and so much other cool stuff.

This year marked the 69th running of Detroit Autorama and each and every year it continues to improve and leave its mark as one of the premier custom car shows in the United States. Every year is special in its own way which makes fans of the car culture world looking forward to making the trip to the Motor City better known as Detroit, Michigan to see what this year’s presentation has to offer.
