For the second year in a row, Chris Grave’s Chaos series is in Tucson Arizona for the Fuel Altered Chaos November race presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance. In a 1/8 mile run what ya brung format, over two dozen of the quickest, wildest cars in the country qualified on Friday.

Back in the heyday of Fuel Altered racing, Tucson was ground zero for the blown altereds and promoter Chris Graves and Jim Hughes of Tucson Dragway hope to create a “Stand Alone” event featuring the extreme altereds and bring back the spirit of the Golden Era of the class.

Graves’ format allows for three separate 8 car fields that allow parity with the quickest cars in the CP Carrillo ‘A’ field and then the Western Differential ‘B’ field. Rounding out the action is the Laris Insurance ‘C’ field.

The ‘A’ Field will run heads up with no breakout index. The two other Fields established an index based on the average of qualifying. Racers in the these fields cannot run under the index during eliminations or face forfeiting the win.

Brandon Seraphine in the Jake Sanders tuned “Spare Change”  Bantum set the pace in the ‘A’ Field with a Fuel Altered Chaos record 3.665.

Lyle Greenberg’s “Cone Hunter” grabbed #2 with a 3.734.

Leading the ‘B’ Field was Chuck Loftin in the Loftin Performance “Crap Shoot” from Texas with a 3.989. The index for the ‘B’ field will be a 3.83.

Greg Holman from Kingman AZ is #1 in the ‘C’ Field with a 4.194.  The ‘C’ index was set at 4.04.

For the second year in a row, Keith Wilson in the “Witch Doctor” had the biggest header flames during qualifying. Don’t know how he does it.

Eliminations will be Saturday starting at 1:00 in the afternoon. Following the finals, a pair of Jet Dragsters will close out the show.
