Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the month of August. As we get closer and closer to the start of the Countdown to the Championship for 26 the tour heads to the place of 1000 lakes Brainerd and the Brainerd Nationals.

The home of the famous zoo this stop has been on the tour since 1982 and has been the host to many upsets in the sports history like Bob Bode first and only win in 2010.

NUMBER 5 The Return Of The Outlaws

In their first season with the NHRA the stars of the Outlaw Street Class by Right On Trailers have been a huge hit at the select National events they have ran this season. This weekend they make their return to Brainerd. 

 

NUMBER 4 A Win For Bobby? 

In 2010 Bobby Bode stood in victory lane after his dad Bob Bode won his first and only National Event in one of the biggest upsets in Funny Car history.

Can this weekend Bobby be like his dad and score his first Funny Car win at Brainerd? 

NUMBER 3 A Win For My Grandfather

In the sport of NHRA Drag Racing there have been many emotional wins such as Tom McEwen winning Indy just weeks after losing his son Jamie to leukemia. 

This weekend Jordan Vandergriff looks to bring home the Wally to his family after losing his grandfather aftermarket legend Bob Vandergriff Sr earlier this week and with a win recently at Sonoma can he pull it off? 

NUMBER 2 Like Father Like Son

One of the biggest stories of the weekend is the Top Alcohol Dragster Debut in National Event Competition of Mitch Kalitta.

The son of 2 time Top Fuel Champion Doug Kalitta who will be driving for Randy Meyer Racing and with his success at the World Series of Pro Mod can he add a National Event win to his resume? 

NUMBER 1 3 Straight For Kalitta? 

 

The hottest driver in the Top Fuel class is Doug Kalitta. After sweeping the Western Swing Kalitta looks to go through 3 straight in Brainerd and with son Mitch making his National Event debut in TAD this weekend could Doug join Mitch in victory lane?
