For 13 years the hard working folks at the Dead Man’s Curve Car Club have produced the place to be in New Jersey over Labor Day weekend when it comes to the hot rod show.

What can best be described as hot rod happening that is run over four days at its brand new home at The Delta House hotel located in Somerset, New Jersey.

 

After 12 years at its old home at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah, New Jersey the Dead Man’s Car Club packed up their hit show and moved it to its new home.

Folks started to show up on Wednesday before the show actually got underway to stake out their spot and get ready to enjoy the next four days during the run of the show. Over the next four days fans were treated to a great turnout of all sorts of hot rods, customs, muscle cars, rat rods, race cars all sorts of cool stuff on display.

In addition to all of the cars there were many, many bands playing inside and outside of the The Delta House hotel providing all sorts of music for folks to enjoy and dance to. Jim Fun-Zul, Johnny Belair, The Golden Gup and Scotty B from New Jersey Rock and Roll radio station WDHA all played tunes throughout the run of the event.

Once again POR-15 presented Thunder Alley sponsored by Tub-O-Towels, RacingJunk.com and TurnKey Collector Car Insurance. Al Liebmann brought together a super collection of vintage drag racing machines to fill Thunder Alley for fans to check out and enjoy.

In addition to being on display all of the cars on Thunder Alley fired up several times each day during the run of the show to bring fans back in time to glory days of the sport of drag racing allowing fans to get up and close with this great pieces of history.

John Sbrigato of TV Show Cars fame brought out his collection of Bat vehicles  to take part in Five Generations of Gotham City.

In addition to all the great cars and motorcycles seen outside in the big bat tent fans were treated to Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman, and the Riddler. All of these Gotham City residents spent time taking photos and entertaining all fans of Batman from both young and old.

 

Inside of The Delta House the ballroom was filled with more special cars. Dead Mans Curve Car club member Mario Colasuonno put together another great collection of cars for folks to enjoy. John Sbrigato brought out his recreation of the very iconic Uncertain T which was built back in the day by Steve Scott. Sbrigato’s recreation of this piece of show car history for sure gives even the original a run for its money.

Those wacky Zingers along with the famed Red Baron and the Bugs Buggy were on display just like they were back in the early days of the Show Car World scene. Speaking of those early days to gentlemen who played a big part in those early days of that scene spent time at the Wild Hot Rod Weekend talking to fans about those days. Chuck Miller who built many of those iconic cars that toured the country in those day was on hand. Bob Larivee Sr. who was the man that got the whole custom car show car world spinning and going had many of his books on hand for fans to purchase. So much history can be found in these books as well as talking to Larivee.

From the famous tv show CHIPS Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox who stared during the run of the show could be found in the ballroom as well along with one of their bikes much like the one that they rode on the show. From The Godfather movies Gianni Russo who played Carlo Rizzi keeps fans entertained with stories about his time filming the movie as well as talking about one of the cars from the movie that was always on hand.

In addition to all the great cars there was so much for fans to enjoy. From the Miss DMC Pin up Pageant hosted by Hell in Heels, the wild DMC Adult Tricycle race which this year turned into a two lap shootout for serious cash, a muffler rapping contest. There was a swap meet, vendors, pin strippers, food trucks so much great stuff for folks to check out and enjoy.

With Dead Man’s Curve Wild Hot Rod Weekend 13 in the books everyone in the club turns their sights to number 14. Everyone in the club look to make the 14th edition of the Wild Hot Rod Weekend even bigger and better when the event returns to its new home at The Delta House in Somerset, New Jersey. So everyone make plans to spend Labor Day weekend with Dead Mans Curve Car Club when they once again present their annual Wild Hot Rod Weekend.
