Arlington Texas racer Kebin Kinsley took the provisional top spot at Chris Grave’s Funny Car Chaos Classic at the Texas Motorplex outside Dallas. Kinsley who is a drag boat racer and part time Top Fuel driver drove the “War Wagon” to a 3.57 @ 229 to take the “A” field low qualifier going into Saturday’s last session.

Right behind Kinsley is NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car racer Kyle Smith from Wichita Kansas. Smith has his blown Mustang in the show with a 3.637 @208.08

Albuquerque New Mexico driver Lyle Greenburg has his crowd pleasing Cone Hunter Corvette in the #3 spot with a 3.660.

In addition to a stellar Funny Car field, the always unpredictable AA/FAs are also part of the show along with the Texas Drag Racing Association, Nostalgia Modified and Super Stock to round out the event.

First Time FCC driver Matt Brehmer has the Detroit Tiger in the 29th spot with a 4.609

Levi Keenen put the Illinois Thunder Arrow in the show with a 4.056 good enough for #15 going into Saturday’s last qualifier

The Randy Meyer tuned injected fuel FC driven by Julie Nataas is finally starting to show promise with a 3.794 putting the unique combination in the #9 slot

East Coast racer Wayne Hofmann has a new look for 2023 in his China Syndrome Dodge. Hoffman is currently sitting in the #30 spot with an uncharacteristic 4.696 for the New England driver

Dustin Bradford has his popular American Dream Dodge solidly in the show with a 4.186, good enough for 22nd

Chris Schneider #23 with a  4.233

Danny Smith #24 with a 4.235

Clay Cunningham is currently DNQ at the Plex but has one more chance to get his flopper into the field on Saturday
