The Dead Mans Curve Car Club held their annual Wild Hot Rod Weekend at the Mahwah, NJ Sheraton hotel. Surrounding the 22 story hotel were 1500 plus pre-1972 Hot Rods, Gassers, Kustoms, and other unique vehicles. Inside the Sheraton there were a variety of vendors and a display of Zingers in the lobby.

The ballroom was filled with ten of John Sbrigato’s TV show cars. The Batmobile and the Bat Cycle were the crowd favorites. Chuck Miller and Bob Larivee were signing their custom car books. Chuck is known for creating the Zingers and Bob is the founder of the ISCA and other show car circuits.

The other celebrities that were available for autographs and photos were recording artist Dean Torrance and Horny Mike of Counting Cars. Dennis Gage was filming a future episode for his TV show. My Classic Car.

The highlight of the event each day was Thunder Valley. More than twenty funny cars, dragsters, and altereds were fired up twice each day to the delight of the many attendees. Al Liebmann co-ordinates this fan favorite display and sound of the race vehicles.

A muffler rapping contest, tricycle races, pin up contest, and a large outdoor vendor and swap meet gave everyone a lot of venues to check out. There was also live entertainment with 25 bands playing at a variety of locations. Oldies music could always be heard while viewing the abundance of show cars.

The Wild Hot Rod Weekend in Mahwah is the place to be during the Labor Day Holiday.
