Our New England Area photographer John Charbonneau made his way to the upstate New York track for one of the most anticipated spring events on the East Coast. Here are some of John’s images from the event.

Memorial Day weekend turned out to be a great weekend for drag racing at Lebanon Valley Dragway. The sun was shining, wheels were turning and rubber was burning. It was a weekend that spanned many different types of racing that gave spectators a taste of everything from imports to street racing to muscle cars with great side by side old style action of nostalgic funny cars. Thank you to all those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice that permits us to freely gather together and enjoy a sport that we love.

The weekend started with a track rental on Friday sponsored by the Old Style Toyota Club (OSTC). Under the lights, racers got to test their setups that saw many get some great passes some even prepping for the Nutty Money No Prep race on Saturday.

Saturday brought some great heads up side by side no prep action to the dragway hosted by Nutty Money No Prep. This was a new event at Lebanon Valley and for those who came, they got to see some great side by side, heads up, instant green action.

And then there was Sunday, which brought over 300 show cars hosted by the Weekend Cruisers and over 200 racing muscle cars to the Valley of Speed and the SuperCars for Musclemania only to be topped by the best nostalgic funny cars in the east with side by side 200mph passes.
