It was cool but the racers turned out for the inaugural Ice Breaker. The event, an instant green, heads up race had cars from all types of classes and street cars. The event, the first No Prep race put on by the track in 2024, was by all indications, a hit with the fans and the racers. Most of the accolades go to event promoter Kyle Beswick who put the unique event together and was instrumental in getting a large turnout of cars at the Pennsylvania facility .

Small Tire, Big Tire, Street and Stick Shift classes were up for grabs with up to $1000 to win.

Chuck Schultz won Big Tire in his cool Camaro convertible.

The Small Tire finalists, Wesley Skinner Tommy Kolenkiewicz decided to split the pot

Street was split between Joey Allen and Matthew Manton Jr.

Ross Okum took the Stick title.

In 2023, the legendary track after hosting the famed Street Outlaw No Prep Kings since 2018, broke ground on its first ever No Prep race called New Years at The Grove., said Maple Grove’s Billy Kleinspehn, “The first year event was an instant hit which lead to the creation of a new No Prep race for the 2024 season called the Ice Breaker.”

“Despite overnight rain the hard working Maple Grove Staff regarded as one of the best in Drag Racing quickly dried the track and a strong turnout of racers and fans came out for the first blast of racing in 2024.”

“Also, the News Years event was maple groves first own no prep race the others were track rentals by outside groups.”
