Record Crowd at East Coast Indoor Nationals
Story and Images by “ Nostalgia Mashie ” Mihalko
The 32nd annual East Coast Indoor Nationals Car, Truck, and Bike Show had two days of increased attendance for 2023. This must see event is held at the Timonium Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. The Cow Palace building was filled with a variety of show vehicles. Antique, Pro Street, Nostalgia Drag cars, Trucks, Rat Rods, Motorcycles, Foreign, and classic vehicles were displayed in the two large rooms of the Palace.
Situated at the show car entrance was the former 1957 Chevy owned by Dan “Swish” Swisher. A large Collage Poster was nearby eulogizing Swish’s contributions to Motorama’s many car show productions.
The featured celebrity of the car show was Candy Clark of American Graffiti movie fame. She happily signed autographs and posed for pictures with her life long fans . A replica of the 1958 Chevy Impala driven by “Toad” in this classic movie was near Candy’s autograph table. There was also an assortment of both automotive and non-automotive merchandise for the many attendees to check out.
More than $10,000 in cash was raised from a variety of sources to fund the Toys for Tots campaign. Due to the generosity of the show participants a number of Baltimore area children will have toys under their Christmas tree. Plaques and cash awards were presented to the deserving entrants at the conclusion of the car, truck, and bike show. The Motorama Productions Staff will be busy preparing for their next event at the Lebanon Expo Center in Lebanon, PA. The Indoor Drag Racing Showcase and Custom Car Show is scheduled for January 7 & 8 2024. For more information visit www.motoramaproductions.com
