The 25th annual USA-1 Nostalgia Drag Fest was held under sunny skies and comfortable November temperatures. This yearly event occurs at Bruce Larson’s Stoney Creek Barn in Dauphin, PA. The gathering is scheduled to start at 10 am, however the car show participants and vendors arrive two hours earlier to set up in their designated space. There were hundreds of spectators looking at the show vehicles that filled the parking area near Larson’s Barn. Some of the notable race cars present were the AA/FA “Rat Trap,”  AA/FD “Great Expectations “, AA/GS “Warlock,” Wade & Bourgeois Javelin 2 F/C,and the AA/SP Costilow & Larson Cobra.

A presentation ceremony was held to honor six individuals with the Nostalgia Drag Fest Recognition Award. Sandy & Pete Robinson, “Spike “ Kilmer, Ron Hope & his son Brian, and Gordy Chilson were honored. The plaque is awarded to those who have worked to preserve the heritage of drag racing. Jack “JA“ Redd received two belated awards for his life long contributions to drag racing in a variety of roles. One of the honors was the Stan & Norma Shoppel Memorial Award and the other was a plaque from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.

The afternoon activities concluded with a racing memorabilia auction. The entire proceeds from the auction will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This fund raiser has contributed many thousands of dollars over the years to this worthwhile charity. All of this year’s attendees will be patiently awaiting for the date of the 26th annual USA-1 Nostalgia Drag Fest
