After a hit or miss day with the weather, qualifying got real on Saturday with every class getting a shot before first round eliminations. The Lucas Oil divisional, a rescheduled event after the original Memorial Day weekend race was a soggy mess. The qualifying was a one and done affair. One qualifying run and that was it. Fields were set and first round action in Stock and Super Comp along with Jr Dragster were completed before the racing was done for the day. The plan is to run remainder of the race tomorrow. With a big turnout of cars considering the make up date and the weather, this event, for a lot of racer, is a tune up for next week’s NHRA US Nationals in Indy, or the 0.90 event hosted by Rob Keister at Maple Grove.

Leading Top Alcohol Dragster is Jackie Fricke with a 5.201 with Nevada racer Duane Shields in #2 with a 5.264.

Alcohol Funny Car has Dan Pomponio on top with a 5.594 @ 261.32. Brian Gawlik surprised the crowd with a 5.607 good enough for #2 spot going into tomorrows first round.

Top Dragster and Top Sportsman low qualifiers were Al Kenny and John Ammirati’s blown ’63Corvette respectively

Frank Aragona Jr is low qualifier in Competition Eliminator.

Hagerstown Maryland racer Ronnie Huntzberry is low qualifier in Super Stock with a 0.918 under in the family GT/HA’06 Cobalt
